NOIAFT INTERVIEWS ANTHONY GIORDANO, SPECIAL EFFECTS FABRICATOR AND MAKEUP ARTIST

On March 18th, 2020, NOIAFT correspondent and member, Valentina Ferrante, interviewed veteran special effects fabricator and makeup artist, Anthony Giordano, about his career in the entertainment industry. This interview is dedicated to Anthony’s father, Joseph Giordano, who passed away due to COVID-19 after the recording of this interview. ABOUT ANTHONY GIORDANO:

Anthony Giordano is a New Jersey native with a degree in Industrial Design. He has worked as a special effects fabricator and make-up artist for the last 19 years. Giordano‘s movie credits include The Last Samurai, Spider-Man 2 and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. He has been a set and costume fabricator for Disney, has created training suits for NASA and special effects for Saturday Night Live. Giordano’s Broadway credits include Young Frankenstein, Tarzan and Shrek the Musical. Other clients have included Madonna, Metallica, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, Aretha Franklin, Madonna and Korn. Giordano is also a special make-up effects instructor at Make-up Designory New York.

ABOUT VALENTINA FERRANTE:

Based in NYC, Valentina Ferrante is an Italian American actress, storyteller, and writer.

Ms. Ferrante began her acting career at HB Studios, studying under acting coaches, Michael Beckett and Uta Hagen. She then travelled the circuit to Stella Adler Conservatory and, upon personal invitation from Anna Strasberg, went on to study at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Institute. Her acting debut was as the lead and opening role in the romantic comedy, “Singles,” at the Park Place Theatre.

Currently, Ms. Ferrante is working on several projects including the upcoming TV show, “Mr. Jack,” in which she plays Lower East Side madame, Elsa Caravaggio, and was recently cast in the pilot of “K-Town The Series.” She is also working on two upcoming indie feature film projects about Italian American love, marriage, and dramedy. In addition to acting, Ms. Ferrante is writing and performing with Joe Naimoli and Mike Tota on “UpLate with Johnny Potenza.” She is also a member and correspondent for the National Organization of Italian Americans in Film & Television (NOIAFT).
